HUBTALK on Gender Equity

Cambodia has made significant economic progress over the past decade but it’s still very far behind when compared to other countries. Almost 70% of the population doesn’t have piped water, and a large percentage of residents still live below the poverty line. But the biggest thing standing in the way of combating these issues isn’t what you might think…it’s the lack of practical education, which leads to a shortage of skilled workers.

 

AngkorHUB Academy has the mission of developing participants into capable freelancers who can compete for higher-paying remote work positions on sites like UpWork, Fiverr, and Freelancer.com. The free job skills training we provide will help Cambodians to earn a livable income while staying in their home country with their families and stimulating the local economy. Also, since motivation is a common issue and major obstacle to progress, by giving the participants milestones and holding them accountable for completing deliverables, we’ll be helping to develop them into high-quality professional workers, too.

 

The project will focus on the Siem Reap area initially, with the goal to grow it to extend its impact to all of Cambodia – and beyond.

Volunteer Mentorship Program

AngkorHUB is a place where talented location-independent individuals from all over the world come to get work done – and many are also looking for ways to connect with local people and organizations. Aware of the challenges that the organizations face in the personal and professional development of their staff, these professionals hope to share their knowledge and competencies.

At AngkorHUB, we facilitate this connection through a volunteer mentoring program and are currently working with these six organizations to create a transformational impact in the community:

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you are working from AngkorHub for at least one month and want to share your knowledge to help increase the impact of local organizations, we would love to have you participate in our Siem Reap volunteer mentorship program! Simple and beautiful: you meet with a staff member of the organization for 2-3 hours weekly, for a minimum of 4 weeks. In those sessions, you’ll help your mentoree develop his/her competencies and skills…and gain an understanding of local culture that you can’t get anywhere else.

Free Coworking: Share Your Knowledge

 

We are a community in Siem Reap which is formed by locals and internationals who are driven to make a positive social impact with our ideas and businesses. Therefore, we continuously collaborate with one another in order to improve our processes and outcomes.

 


By organizing a workshop or talk at AngkorHUB, you get free access to the coworking space for an agreed period of time in addition to the chance to promote your project, defend a cause, make trials, get valuable feedback, and make connections.


Your help can be:

  • Technical or practical with a focus in either soft or hard skills.

 

  • Motivational/inspirational

 

  • Talk about your area of expertise and/or your current driver.

 

Our staff can assist you with the planning and implementation of the workshop/talk.

AngkorHUB serves as a socially-responsible launching pad for future business leaders of Cambodia. Through our social innovation center and partnership with SEA ventures, our network of successful entrepreneurs selects a small group of individuals to lead through the early stages of business creation with the understanding that these incubated businesses will, once established, contribute to the Cambodian growth story.

Dear all, It is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of AngkorHub Coworking & Coliving.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to our members and friends who have been part of our community throughout the years.

Despite our efforts to keep our space running, we have unfortunately had to make the difficult decision to close our doors permanently.
